The Police Clearance Certificate application system has been temporarily deactivated for emergency maintenance, with a temporary process now available for applicants.
The Police said the Police Clearance Division, at the 17th floor of Suhurupaya, Battaramulla, will continue processing applications and printing certificates during the system outage.
How to apply during the outage?
- Applicants who need the certificate urgently can download the application form from the official Police website.
- They should select the “Download Application” option, complete the form and email it to clear.application@police.gov.lk.
- Applicants must also send photocopies of their National Identity Card and Passport with the application.
The Police said applicants do not need to make a payment at this stage.
What happens after the system returns?
Applicants who use the temporary process will need to submit their applications again through the online system once the service is restored.
They will also need to make the required payment at that time.
People who have already submitted applications through the online system can check the Police website for their reference numbers.
The Police said it will publish the reference numbers of applicants whose clearance reports are ready for issue.
Certificates can be collected at Suhurupaya
Applicants whose reference numbers appear on the list can collect their certificates from the Police Clearance Division at Suhurupaya.
The division will also provide collection facilities on Saturdays and Sundays.
Applicants whose reference numbers do not appear on the list will receive their reports after the online system returns.
Police Headquarters said technical teams are working to restore the system as quickly as possible.
The Police will announce when the online service becomes available again.
