GWM Adds Two New Vehicle Choices for Buyers: ORA 5 EV and Jolion MAX PHEV

GWM Adds Two New Vehicle Choices for Buyers: ORA 5 EV and Jolion MAX PHEV

People looking to buy an electrified vehicle now have two more options to consider, with David Pieris Automobiles (DPA) adding the fully electric GWM ORA 5 and the Haval Jolion MAX Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) to its GWM range.

The two models offer different ways to move towards electric driving. The ORA 5 is a fully electric hatchback, while the Jolion MAX PHEV combines electric driving with a petrol engine.

Both models were launched at the GWM Experience Centre operated by DPA at Access Towers, Union Place, Colombo 02.

ORA 5 offers fully electric driving

For buyers looking for a fully electric vehicle, the GWM ORA 5 comes with a 100 kW electric motor and a 58.3 kWh battery.

It offers a driving range of up to 520 km under New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) testing conditions.

The ORA 5 is a premium hatchback with features aimed at everyday driving. These include electric seats, a panoramic glass roof, a power tailgate and a 3.2-litre cooling box.

Inside, buyers get a 14.6-inch touchscreen display, voice control and wireless charging. The car also has a 360-degree camera with a transparent chassis view.

Another feature is Vehicle-to-Load (V2L). This allows external electrical devices to draw power directly from the vehicle.

The ORA 5 also comes with several driver assistance features. These include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, front collision warning and traffic sign recognition.

It has 175 mm of ground clearance and four driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport and Well Being.

For someone considering a fully electric car, the ORA 5 therefore offers a combination of electric driving range, technology and everyday comfort in a hatchback.

Jolion MAX PHEV combines electric and petrol power

The Haval Jolion MAX PHEV offers a different choice for buyers who want electric driving but also want the flexibility of a petrol engine.

It uses a 1.5-litre turbo plug-in hybrid powertrain. The system produces 240 kW of combined power and 513 Nm of torque.

The vehicle can travel up to 108 km on electric power under NEDC testing conditions.

The Jolion MAX PHEV is an SUV with a premium cabin. Its features include leather-appointed interiors, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, spacious second-row seating and a panoramic sunroof.

Technology features include a 12.3-inch infotainment display, head-up display, 360-degree camera and voice control.

Safety is another focus. The SUV comes with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), along with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking.

The Jolion MAX range also includes a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) version. This model recharges its battery while driving and does not require external charging.

More GWM choices and aftersales support

The addition of the ORA 5 and Jolion MAX PHEV expands the GWM choices available through DPA.

The existing range includes the Haval H6 in HEV and PHEV versions, Tank 500 HEV, Tank 300 HEV and Haval H6 GT PHEV.

This gives buyers a wider selection of electrified vehicles across different vehicle types and powertrains.

DPA also operates a dedicated aftersales service centre at Hyde Park Corner, Colombo 02. The company has an islandwide dealer network to provide customers with aftersales service and maintenance support.

For buyers comparing their next vehicle, the two new models offer different approaches. The ORA 5 is designed for those looking for fully electric driving, while the Jolion MAX PHEV combines electric driving with the flexibility of a petrol engine.
