Pakistan has announced a reduction in fuel prices, lowering both petrol and diesel rates as global energy prices continue to ease.
The move will reduce fuel costs for motorists, transport operators, and businesses that depend on fuel for daily operations. Lower fuel prices can also influence transportation expenses and distribution costs across the economy.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said, “74 Pakistani rupees per litre will reduce petrol prices”.
Under the revised pricing, petrol will cost 299 Pakistani rupees per litre, down from 373 Pakistani rupees per litre.
67 Pakistani rupees per litre have also reduced diesel prices.
The new diesel price has been set at 311 Pakistani rupees per litre, compared with the previous rate of 378 Pakistani rupees per litre.
Government Passes on Lower Oil Prices
According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the decision was taken to pass on the benefit of lower international oil prices to consumers.
The price revision comes as global energy markets continue to experience changes that have affected fuel costs in many countries.
Fuel prices are closely watched by businesses because they influence transportation, logistics and supply chain expenses. Changes in fuel costs can also affect operating budgets in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and retail trade.
