Litro Gas Lanka has warned its authorised dealers against hoarding gas cylinders, limiting sales, or charging more than the maximum retail price. Dealers who break these instructions could face disciplinary action. In serious cases, Litro says it may cancel the dealership.
What Litro Wants Dealers to Avoid?
Litro has told all authorised dealers not to keep gas cylinders in stock for the purpose of limiting sales. Dealers must sell cylinders to customers without deliberately holding back supplies. They must also follow the maximum retail price when selling gas.
In addition, Litro has warned dealers against restricting sales. This means businesses cannot deliberately limit access to cylinders while holding available stock. For gas dealers, these rules directly affect how they manage stock and sales.
Dealerships Could Be Cancelled
Litro says it will take disciplinary action against dealers who fail to follow its instructions. The company has also warned that it may cancel a dealership when necessary.
As a result, dealers face more than a warning if they breach the company’s requirements. Losing the dealership could mean losing the right to sell Litro gas as an authorised dealer. Litro’s warning comes as the domestic LPG market faces supply pressure. However, the company has kept its November domestic gas prices unchanged.
The 12.5kg cylinder remains at Rs. 4,365, while the 5kg cylinder costs Rs. 1,750. Meanwhile, the 2.3kg cylinder remains at Rs. 815.
For businesses selling Litro gas, the latest warning makes three areas clear: stock handling, sales, and pricing.
Dealers must follow these requirements to avoid disciplinary action and the possible loss of their dealership.
