UNP to launch digital initiative at Sirikotha

The United National Party (UNP) will launch a new digital initiative at its headquarters, Sirikotha, on Wednesday (04).

In a statement, the UNP said the programme is aimed at integrating digital technology into the party’s organisational operations.

As part of the initiative, Digital Ward Coordinators will be appointed to cover all electoral wards across the country. In the initial phase, 1,000 coordinators will be recruited with the objective of improving efficiency, transparency and public engagement in party activities.

The party also plans to introduce a new mobile application, known as the UNP App. The platform is expected to provide party members, organisers and the public with a digital space for information sharing, communication and participation.

The UNP said the initiative is intended to support the development of a people-focused, innovative and technology-driven party structure, and forms part of its broader effort to modernise internal operations and outreach.
