The Department of Motor Traffic has introduced a new WhatsApp hotline for public complaints about motor vehicles.
People can now send written complaints to 074 245 3300 about problems they face during vehicle registration.
The new service also covers complaints about delays, irregularities and other problems linked to vehicle operations.
Public Can Send Complaints Through WhatsApp
The Commissioner of Motor Traffic Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Thushara Indunil Fernando introduced the new WhatsApp service as a direct channel for the public.
People can send their complaints as written WhatsApp messages to the new hotline.
The service aims to make it easier for people to report problems and seek a response from the Department.
Complaints can relate to issues faced during the registration of motor vehicles.
The public can also report inconveniences caused by vehicles.
Complaints Can Cover Delays and Irregularities
The hotline will also accept complaints about delays and irregularities linked to vehicle matters.
In addition, people can report public disturbances caused by vehicle operations.
The new channel gives vehicle users a simple way to raise these concerns directly with the Department of Motor Traffic.
For people facing problems with vehicle registration or vehicle-related public issues, the key change is the availability of a direct WhatsApp complaint channel.
