Traders at Colombo Sea Street said the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign increased by about Rs. 12,000.
As of today (03), a 24-carat gold sovereign is priced at Rs. 380,000. It stood at Rs. 368,000 yesterday (02).
The price of a 22-carat gold sovereign also moved up to Rs. 349,000, compared with Rs. 338,000 the previous day.
In the international market, gold was trading at around USD 4,816 per ounce today.
