Finding new buyers and entering new markets remain among the biggest challenges facing exporters.
Sri Lanka Expo 2027 is being positioned as a platform to address both, with organizers now expanding international promotion efforts to attract overseas buyers, investors, and business delegations ahead of the event.
The Export Development Board (EDB), with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, has begun engaging foreign diplomatic missions to help promote the Expo internationally and encourage participation from key export markets.
A diplomatic briefing held on 12th of June 2026 brought together around 100 representatives from foreign missions based in Colombo and accredited overseas missions to discuss opportunities linked to the event.
