CIC Holdings PLC reported a 24.5% increase in profit after tax for the financial year ended March 31, 2026, demonstrating the role of diversification in navigating weather-related disruptions and sector-specific pressures.
The Group recorded revenue of Rs. 91.75 billion, up 10.16% from the previous year, while profit after tax rose to Rs. 8.25 billion from Rs. 6.63 billion. Operating profit increased 10.39% to Rs. 11.90 billion, while profit before tax climbed 23.97% to Rs. 11.42 billion.
Commenting on the performance, CIC Holdings Group CEO Aroshan Seresinhe said, “FY26 demonstrated the resilience of the Group’s diversified business model and the commitment of its teams across all sectors.
The results come despite challenges faced by the Agri Produce sector, which was affected by Cyclone Ditwah and changes in the rice market following the liberalisation of rice imports. While the segment remained profitable, earnings were lower than other business sectors within the Group“.
The figures highlight the importance of diversification within CIC’s business structure. Crop Solutions remained the largest contributor, accounting for approximately 41% of segmental revenue and generating Rs. 4.41 billion in profit. The segment continues to play a central role in the country’s agricultural supply chain.
Meanwhile, Health & Personal Care emerged as the fastest-growing profit contributor, recording a 33.65% increase in segmental profit to Rs. 2.74 billion. Livestock Solutions reported a 19.09% increase in profit to Rs. 2.21 billion, while Industrial Solutions grew 20.74% to Rs. 1.70 billion.
The performance suggests that demand across healthcare, industrial products, livestock, and agricultural inputs helped offset pressures in areas affected by adverse weather conditions and policy changes.
Another notable aspect of the results was the Group’s growing asset base. Total assets reached Rs. 99.75 billion, placing CIC close to the Rs. 100 billion mark. Earnings per share also increased from Rs. 2.87 to Rs. 3.64, reflecting a 26.77% improvement year-on-year.
As businesses continue to operate in an environment shaped by changing weather patterns, market volatility, and evolving policy decisions, CIC’s FY26 results illustrate how exposure to multiple sectors can help companies absorb shocks in one segment while continuing to generate growth from others.
