Digibrush Ranks No. 5 in Asia-Pacific and No. 24 Globally in 2025 Effie Index

Sri Lankan independent agency Digibrush Productions has ranked No. 5 among Asia-Pacific’s most effective independent agency offices in the 2025 Effie Index.

The Colombo-based agency also ranked No. 24 globally among independent agencies. It scored 117 points in the global independent-agency ranking, placing it among the world’s top 25 independent agencies.

The result puts a Sri Lankan agency alongside independent firms from markets such as India, Pakistan and New Zealand.

What the Effie ranking measures

The Effie Index ranks agencies based on their performance in Effie Awards competitions around the world.

The 2025 Index uses finalist and winning entries from competitions held between January and December 2025. It draws data from more than 55 Effie programs across 130 markets and covers more than 5,700 worldwide finalists and winners.

Effie focuses on marketing effectiveness rather than creative awards alone. Its rankings use the results and performance evidence submitted in Effie cases to identify agencies, brands and marketers behind effective campaigns.

That makes Digibrush’s ranking relevant beyond the advertising industry. It gives the Colombo-based agency an independently measured position among agencies competing across international markets.

Digibrush enters Asia-Pacific top five

Digibrush ranked fifth in the Asia-Pacific independent-agency office table.

The regional ranking puts it behind The Womb in Mumbai, Fishbowl in Lahore, Motion Sickness in Auckland and Viral Edge in Karachi. Digibrush scored 117 points, while the next agency in the ranking, Special in Wellington, scored 106.

Sri Lanka also has other agencies in the global independent ranking. Media Factory in Colombo ranked No. 37 with 86 points, while Avant Media ranked No. 66 with 66 points.

Digibrush’s result therefore gives the local advertising industry another presence in an international effectiveness ranking.

From Colombo to the global market

Digibrush operates as an independent agency from Colombo and works across sectors including telecommunications, FMCG, apparel, finance and real estate.

Its co-founders, Hisham Zulfiqar and Fazaal Naufer, said the regional ranking was particularly meaningful because the agency was built in Sri Lanka.

They said the result supports their belief that an agency’s location should not limit the standard of work it can produce.

The agency now has a place among independent firms that have produced measurable results in Effie competitions around the world.

That matters for local brands as well as the agency itself. Companies looking for marketing partners can now point to a global effectiveness ranking when assessing the capabilities of a Sri Lankan independent agency.

The result also comes as Sri Lanka’s creative industry looks for more opportunities to compete in regional and international markets.

Digibrush’s No. 5 Asia-Pacific ranking and No. 24 global independent-agency position give that ambition a measurable reference point.

For the agency, the next challenge will be to turn this ranking into sustained international work and stronger results in future Effie Index editions.
