The Deputy Minister will undertake the official visit from December 21 to 25 as head of the Sri Lankan delegation to the Joint Committee on the foreign employment sector.
Bilateral discussions will focus on foreign employment cooperation between the two countries. Officials said talks will cover policy coordination, labour demand planning, and strengthening institutional frameworks governing overseas employment.
Authorities expect the engagement to enhance worker placement mechanisms and improve protection standards for Sri Lankan workers employed in Israel. Discussions will also address operational challenges and identify future cooperation opportunities in the sector.
In addition to official meetings, the Deputy Minister is scheduled to meet Sri Lankan nationals residing in Israel. These community engagements will focus on worker welfare, communication channels, and addressing on-ground concerns.
Officials said outcomes from the visit are expected to support broader efforts to modernize foreign employment governance and reinforce long-term bilateral cooperation in the sector.
