SriLankan Airlines has warned passengers about fraudulent mobile applications that impersonate the airline and may seek personal or financial information.
The airline has urged customers to avoid downloading apps from unofficial websites, social media links, messaging platforms and third-party app stores.
How to Identify the Official App
SriLankan Airlines said it never asks customers to download its mobile application through links sent by WhatsApp, SMS, email or social media.
The airline also said it will never request One-Time Passwords (OTPs), banking PINs, credit card details or other financial information.
Passengers should download the official SriLankan Airlines app only through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Before downloading or updating the app, users should check that SriLankan Airlines Limited appears as the publisher.
What Should Passengers Do?
SriLankan Airlines said all official promotions, offers and digital services are available through its official website, mobile application and verified social media accounts.
Passengers who find an app claiming to represent the airline should not install it or provide personal or payment information.
Instead, they should report suspicious applications through SriLankan Airlines’ official channels.
For passengers, checking the app source and publisher before downloading can help avoid sharing sensitive information with fraudulent services.
