The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) reported that 279,328 visitors arrived in February 2026. This is the highest number of tourists recorded in a single month.
The figure also shows clear growth compared with last year. Arrivals increased by 16.2 percent compared with February 2025.
Daily travel activity also reached a peak during the month. The highest number of visitors in a single day was recorded on 12 February 2026, when 12,731 tourists entered the country.
India remained the largest source market. A total of 47,679 travellers arrived from India during the month.
The figures highlight strong seasonal demand and growing travel confidence among key markets.
