Sri Lankan Rupee Strengthens Further as Bond Yields Remain Steady

Sri Lanka’s rupee appreciated against the US dollar on Monday, closing at 293.45/55, up from 294.00/50 the previous day. Bond yields, meanwhile, were broadly stable with minor fluctuations.

• 15.12.2026 Bond: Yield declined to 10.40/50% from 10.50/65%.
• 15.12.2027 Bond: Yield increased to 11.50/60% from 10.50/65%.
• 15.02.2028 Bond: Yield dropped to 11.65/75% from 11.70/80%.
• 15.09.2029 Bond: Closed steady at 11.95/12.05%.
• 15.05.2030 Bond: Slight change to 12.15/30% from 12.15/25%.

This marks a positive shift for the rupee amid stable bond market performance.
