In a landmark initiative, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh, in collaboration with the Coconut Development Authority of Sri Lanka, facilitated the participation of ten Sri Lankan companies specializing in coconut-based products at the 41st edition of the Saudi Agriculture Expo 2024. This event took place in Riyadh from October 21 to 24, marking the first time Sri Lanka had a dedicated presence at this prestigious expo. The Sri Lanka pavilion was officially inaugurated by Ambassador Ameer Ajwad at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.

  • Significant Breakthrough: Ambassador Ameer Ajwad emphasized the importance of Sri Lankan participation in the Saudi Agriculture Expo, stating it represents a significant breakthrough for local coconut product manufacturers.   • Boosting Exports: The Ambassador underscored that showcasing coconut-based products would greatly enhance Sri Lanka’s export potential in international markets, thereby expanding the country’s export basket.
