President Appoints New Governors for Sri Lanka’s Nine Provinces

Sri Lanka’s President Anura Dissanayake has announced the appointment of new governors for all nine provinces. The newly appointed governors are as follows:

• Hanif Yusuf – Western Province
• Sarath Bandara Samarasinghe Abayakon – Central Province
• Bandula Harischandra – Southern Province
• Tissa Kumarasiri Warnasuriya – North Western (Wayamba) Province
• Wasantha Kumara Wimalasiri – North Central Province
• Nagalingam Vethanayagam – Northern Province
• Jayantha Lal Ratnasekara – Eastern Province
• Champa Janaki Rajaratne – Sabaragamuwa Province
• Kapila Jayasekara – Uva Province

This reshuffle reflects the President’s efforts to strengthen governance across the country’s provincial administrations.
