On Sunday, September 15, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena welcomed the President of the Malayalam Mega Film Producers Association (MFPA) and two renowned directors at Temple Trees.
MFPA President Joseph Anto Athirampuzha, along with directors Narayanan Mahesh and C.V. Sarathy, discussed their plans to shoot a Malayalam mega film in Sri Lanka this November.
The film will feature two of the biggest stars in Malayalam cinema, Mammootty and Mohanlal, marking their first collaboration in 20 years. Shooting will take place in Sri Lanka for 30 days, with additional locations in Kerala, Delhi, and London.
Prime Minister Gunawardena expressed gratitude for choosing Sri Lanka as a filming location, emphasizing the positive impact on foreign exchange and tourism promotion. This project is expected to enhance Sri Lanka’s reputation as a prime location for international film productions.
MP Yadamini Gunawardena, Advisor Sugeeswara Senadhira, and other officials also attended the meeting.
