As Sri Lanka’s Presidential Election 2024 unfolds today, the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) and the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) have ramped up transport services to facilitate voter travel.
LPBOA Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne announced that additional buses will be deployed for citizens traveling to their hometowns to vote. He urged passengers to start their journeys early to avoid delays and ensure they reach polling stations on time.
In parallel, SLTB Chairman Lalith de Alwis confirmed that 3,300 SLTB buses are operating across the island to support the large voter turnout expected today.
These efforts aim to ensure smooth travel for voters, reinforcing the importance of civic participation in this historic election.
