Billionaire businessman Dhammika Perera has been reappointed as the Non-Executive Director and Co-Chairman of Hayleys PLC, effective from October 1, 2024. Perera, who resigned in June 2022 to accept a parliamentary seat, returns to the board after a unanimous decision by the company’s Nominations and Governance Committee.
Perera, who holds a 51.01% stake in Hayleys PLC, has over 35 years of experience in industries ranging from manufacturing to hydropower generation. He is also the Chairman and Founder of the Dhammika & Priscilla Perera Foundation.
The reappointment is expected to strengthen Hayleys’ strategic direction and growth initiatives.
