McDonald’s Corporation and its Sri Lankan franchise partner, International Restaurant Systems (Private) Limited, have mutually agreed to end their franchise relationship in Sri Lanka. This decision follows a legal settlement deemed favorable by both parties, marking the conclusion of a long-standing collaboration.
In a joint media statement, both companies thanked the public for their support over the years and asked that they disregard previous rumors or media speculation regarding their business relationship.
As McDonald’s exits the Sri Lankan market, the end of this franchise partnership reflects a shift in the local fast-food landscape.
